La Picon Castro 2025

Salimos de las inmediaciones del Refugio Castro Valnera en el Valle de Lunada. Tras el primer km en ligera bajada, cruzamos la carretera e iniciamos una dura subida en las cabañas de Puviso hacia Peña Lusa. A continuación, nos uniremos a la senda Valle de Lunada. Después nos dirigiremos al Pico La Miel y al techo de Las Merindades, el Castro Valnera. En la bajada de éste, nos adentraremos en sus profundidades y atravesaremos la cueva del video de presentación. Seguimos bajando hasta el Collado y aquí emprenderemos la subida a la Cubada Grande. Tras un pequeño cresteo con una pedrera muy interesante, comenzamos la bajada hacia El Curro a través del Collado Viduleo. Cruzamos La Mesa buscando ya la carretera de Estacas con dirección a la Senda de la Frente. Es aquí donde nos uniremos al final del recorrido de la TRAIL compartiendo con ellos las subidas y los bosques de La Frente, Bustulama y La Herbosa. Llegando finalmente a la plaza de Espinosa de los Monteros.

We leave the vicinity of the Castro Valnera Refuge in the Lunada Valley. After the first km of slight descent, we cross the road and begin a hard climb at the Puviso cabins towards Pena Lusa. Next, we will join the Lunada Valley trail. Afterwards we will go to Pico La Miel and the roof of Las Merindades, the Castro Valnera. On the way down, we will enter its depths and go through the cave in the presentation video. We continue down to the Collado and here we will begin the climb to the Cubada Grande. After a small crest with a very interesting quarry, we begin the descent towards El Curro through Collado Viduleo. We cross La Mesa looking for the Estacas road towards the Senda del Frente. It is here where we will join the end of the TRAIL route, sharing with them the climbs and forests of La Frente, Bustulama and La Herbosa. Finally arriving at the Plaza de Espinosa de los Monteros.
