About the Race

DHARAK – Nanda Bedni Kund is the flagship ultra-distance race of the Nanda series and represents a serious Himalayan endurance challenge. From Lohajung, runners climb continuously through forest trails, traditional mountain routes, and alpine landscapes, passing Didina, Tolpani Top, and Aali Bugyal before reaching the sacred alpine lake of Bedni Kund. The course features relentless elevation gain, technical ascents, and long exposed sections at altitude. The Bedni Kund turnaround marks the highest and most remote point of the race, governed by a strict cut-off to ensure safe descent before adverse weather or nightfall. The return journey tests physical resilience and mental focus as runners descend the same demanding terrain back to Lohajung. This race is intended only for highly experienced trail and ultra runners with proven mountain running credentials, strong navigation skills, and the ability to operate safely in remote, high-altitude environments.
