The ITRA National League is an established annual competition that enables trail runners to compete at a national level through qualifying races in their country.
Through the National League, ITRA aims to:
Support the development of trail running at a national level
Provide an accessible national competition based on clear and simple rules
Encourage local participation, helping to reduce the carbon footprint associated with travel
Enhance services for both runners and race organisers

To be ranked, runners must complete a minimum of three qualifying races within the same country during the calendar year.
Rankings are finalized after each year and a new season begins each January.
The National League ranking period follows the calendar year, running from January 1st to December 31st.
Final rankings are published shortly after the year ends, and a new season begins each January.
The National League ranking is calculated by country during the same calendar year.
The sum of your best 3 ITRA scores obtained on a National League races will give your National League score.
Example:
Race 1: ITRA score = 500
Race 2: ITRA score = 525
Race 3: ITRA Score = 475
Your National League score: 1500
If you race more than 3 National League races, your 3 best scores will be considered for the final ranking!
Final rankings for each National League season are published shortly after the end of the calendar year, once all results have been processed.
All rankings are available on the National League ranking page and are updated regularly throughout the year.
Yes, a runner can be ranked in national leagues in multiple countries as long as he/she meets the requirement of 3 races completed in each of those countries.
Runners remain in the same age category for the entire National League year.
Age categories are determined by the age a runner will be at the end of the calendar year.
If a runner moves into a new age category during the year, they will be placed in that category from the start of the season.
Rankings may be updated after results are published to reflect corrections, merged profiles, or updated result files. Your current ranking always reflects the most accurate and up-to-date information held by ITRA.
To help ensure your results are correctly assigned, please make sure your results are linked to the correct runner profile by using your ITRA ID where possible, providing accurate information to race organisers, and requesting a profile merge if duplicates exist.
