The ITRA National League is an established annual competition that enables trail runners to compete at a national level through qualifying races in their country.

Through the National League, ITRA aims to:

Support the development of trail running at a national level

Provide an accessible national competition based on clear and simple rules

Encourage local participation, helping to reduce the carbon footprint associated with travel

Enhance services for both runners and race organisers

HOW TO PARTICIPATE?

Starting date: Each year, from January 1st

Run and finish 3 National League races in the same country in the ongoing year between 1st January and 31st December.

Your rank is defined by sum of the 3 best ITRA scores obtained in national league races.

All the races taking part in the National League challenge can be easily recognized thanks to the dedicated NATIONAL LEAGUE LOGO in the ITRA calendar.

To have a race included in the National League ranking, two steps are mandatory:

1. Request a race evaluation to obtain ITRA points, by November before the National League season ends.

2. Upload the race results to the ITRA website within 7 days of the event and before the year’s final ranking is compiled.

To be able to ask for a race evaluation, you need an organiser membership and upload a GPX file from your organiser account.

You will receive the National League logo with the race evaluation confirmation email.

You can also request it via email by sending a message to: contact@itra.run

Organisers are expected to:

  • Uphold ITRA values ITRA values in the organisation of their races
  • Ensure all races are evaluated for ITRA points by November, before the end of the National League season.
  • Submit race results to the ITRA website within 7 days of the event and before the year’s final ranking is compiled.

  • Promote your races on the dedicated National Leagues pages.
  • Highlight your races in the ITRA race calendar and in dedicated ITRA promotional material related to national leagues.
  • The results of your races are included in the ITRA National League rankings and published in the runners' profiles in the National League category.
  • Evaluation of your races / Estimation of their level of difficulty for participants (ITRA points).
