Thorvaldsdalsskokkid terrain run 2026

Þorvaldsdalsskokkið, elsta óbyggðahlaup á Íslandi, fer fram fyrsta laugardag hvers árs. Hlaupinn er Þorvaldsdalur frá gömlu brúnni yfir Ytri Tunguá að marki sem er við Stærri Árskóg. Leiðarval er frjálst en fjórar drykkjarstöðvar eru á leiðinni og er vegalengdin 24-25 km.

Thorvaldsdalur terrain run takes place first Saturday in July each year. The run starts at the old bridge of Ytri Tungua river in Horgardalur valley and ends close to Staerri Arskogur. Runners are free to choose their own path but the distance is 24-25 km.

Hálfur Þorvaldsdalur hefst við Brattavelli og er hlaupið vestan við Þorvaldsdalsá að brú yfir ána, þá er hlaupið yfir brúna og Þorvaldsdalur hlaupinn til baka á austurbakkanum þartil komið er í mark. Markið er sameiginlegt með Þorvaldsdalsskokkinu.

The shortest distance in Thorvaldsdalsskokkid terrain run as approximately 16 km. The run begins on the western side of river Thorvaldsdalsa, opposite the goal of Thorvaldsdalsskokk. The run goes southbound on the western side of the river until it reaches a bridge which the runners pass to the eastern side and run north the valley towards the goal.
