The 2025 edition features a MINI RTLH (kids dash), 7km, 12km, 21km and 50km distance categories with nearly a thousand runners to take the challenge of running in the scenic and challenging trails of Lake Holon, Mt. Parker and surrounding Tboli highland
Detailed 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: The first 30km is a new route not offered in the 2024 edition which is almost 90% wide and established dirt roads connecting various Tboli communities of Basag, Disdeng, Lub, Lamumay, Kleb, Balkaw, Kefak and Kule. We designed it be a runnable one with 1250m gain for the ultra trail marathoners to showcase their technical running skills on the early part of the race. First 8km to AS1 at Disdeng is mostly downhill and features a city lights view from afar of Tboli town proper, hanging bridge, pineapple fields, some rubber tree and banana plantations. The Disdeng (AS1) to Lamumay (AS2) segment involves a lengthy banana planation community trails, several river crossings, a less than 500meter cemented road segment (the only cemented segment in 51km actual distance) and few kilometers of single track trail segments in the old Laconon-Lamumay road. From AS2, the next segment to Sitio Balkaw (AS3) are gradual ascends with one major downhill to a river system and ascend to a ridge where Sitio Kleb is located, then an established community road to Sitio Balkaw (AS3). Ultra Runners should reach Sitio Balkaw (KM24.67) by 6am else they will be sent back to Brgy. Salacafe race village which is 2.5km away. From Sitio Balkaw, remaining runners will pass a less than 1km banana plantation then a single track trail inside Mt. Parker with several rivertories exiting to Sitio Kefak, then an uphill community road to Sitio Kule (AS4) about 30.84km. The remaining 21km is quite a challenging segment (3 major ascends and 3 major descends) as it’s mostly single track and forested trail with river crossings around Mt. Parker with a total elevation gain of 1,550meters. It also involves another intermediate cutoff at KM41 (AS5- Kule Station1 trail) in 11.5hrs. DNF runners at KM41 is advised to take the less than 1km trail descend to Sitio Kule and ride a motorcyle back to the race village. The last 10km is the usual Kule to Salacafe traverse trail which features the three scenic viewdecks and the enchanting Lake Holon campsite. In this segment the 50km and 21km runners will share the same route. Runners are expected to arrive at lake campsite by 1:30pm as there are few more demanding ascends to Kutong Busaw (AS6) and Salabyaan viewdecks. From lake campsite, 50km and 21km runners will be sharing the remaining 6.25km segment with the 12km runners. DNFs can take the 5km shortcut trail from Kutong Busaw AS6 to race village or take a horse or motorcycle ride back to Brgy. Salacafe. Ultra runners to be considered finishers are expected to finish the whole route in 16hrs, a quite demanding one (speed/fast hike/manage time at AS) for a course with 2800 gain.
