International Ultra Trail Migrants Marathon Fushe-Arrez
The Kaproj Trail is a race that takes place in one of the most picturesque landscapes of Albania, featuring an elevation gain of approximately 2,045 meters. The race starts in the center of the Fushë-Arrëz Municipality and passes through the village of Fushë-Arrëz, following a trail lined with dense pine forests toward Mount Krrabi. From there, the green trail leads runners tangentially past the villages of Micoj and Lumëardh, continuing toward the Church of Shën Rrokut, the beautiful Prrezi Valley, the Nik Zogu Hut, and the Laku i Ballshit Ridge. The route then proceeds to the Dardë Hut, the Brahajve Hut, the village of Orosh, and onward to the Kryeziu Waterfall. At the waterfall, runners encounter a natural pool surrounded by dense greenery and crystal-clear, refreshing water—an ideal spot to rest and rejuvenate (participants are reminded to be cautious, as the water is very cold). From there, the trail continues refreshed along paths bordered by orchards and seasonal fruit trees toward the village of Kryezi. The route then heads back toward the Church of Shën Rroku and follows the ridge until reaching the finish line in the center of Fushë-Arrëz Municipality. Throughout the race, the landscape transitions from rolling hills to rugged mountainous terrain. The course is entirely off-road and has been cleared of dense vegetation and other obstacles, making it well-suited for running and allowing participants to fully enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Along the trail, runners will also find numerous freshwater springs.
