The Himalaya Sports Tampin Trans Naning Ultra (HSTTNU) is a challenging trail-run with a 34km loop (once, twice, or thrice), the 21km Yang di-Pertua (YDP) Challenge, and the 8km Forest 9 Mountain race. Starting and finishing at Tampin Water Park, the courses traverse the iconic Trans Naning Trail with rugged seven-peak ridges and lush jungle.
The YDP Challenge (21km) takes its name from the Yang di-Pertua (YDP), the President of the Tampin District Council, in recognition of the council’s leadership and support for the event. Extended from 14km in the previous edition, this year’s route was re-designed in response to participant feedback and growing demand for a longer, more rewarding mid-distance challenge. With the updated route, the YDP Challenge now starts and finishes at Tampin Water Park, in line with all other race categories this year. Covering approximately 60% of the Classic 34km Trans Naning Loop, the YDP Challenge offers runners a taste of the Trans Naning experience in a less demanding format. Participants will follow the Classic route for the first 9km, before cutting in toward Puncak 705 midway through the outer segments en-route to Gunung Datuk, then rejoining the final 8km of the Classic route back to the finish at Tampin Water Park. Expect old logging roads, rugged trail conditions, and machete-heavy sections that demand focus and grit along the way. With a nine (9)-hour cut-off, this category is built for runners seeking a shorter route without losing the character and challenge of Trans Naning. Whether you are a first-timer looking for a real challenge or a trail runner building toward ultras, the YDP Challenge is the perfect introduction to Trans Naning. Less distance. Same Trans Naning spirit.
