High Scardus Ultra 2024

The High Scardus Ultra is a remarkable trail running event that is both international and environmentally conscious. It follows the trail to Tito Peak, the highest point in the Sharr Mountains, and marks the first race in the Balkans that crosses two states – Kosovo and North Macedonia.

About the Race

The journey commences in the enchanting city of Prizren, winding through the historic Old City before venturing towards Mariash and Jabllanica. As the trail progresses, it leads adventurers past the Mountaineering Hut, marking the start of a challenging ascent towards Vrtop Saddle. Here, amidst breathtaking vistas, participants reach the pivotal checkpoint at Karanikolla Lake, one of the most beautiful lakes on Shar Mountain. Continuing along the trail, the route unveils its most captivating segment near the towering peaks of Big Vrtop and Smal Vrtop. Passing mountain rivers and waterfalls, the trail passes the amazing area of Treskavec, full of rocky pillars and Kobilica, revealing nature’s splendor at its finest. Transitioning beyond borders, the trail meanders into Veice, one of the most remote villages nestled in Macedonia, before proceeding towards the village of Brodec. The concluding stretches of the journey unfold as an epic finale, ascending toward the area of Jelak and the Jelak Black Peak, before passing a joyfull single trail and the final push to Popova Shapka.
