日本屈指の難関トレイルランニング。大会名「4100」はコースの高低差を表しています。温泉地野沢温泉村のアップダウンに富んだコースです。エントリーカテゴリーも65km、23km、14kmとレベルに合わせることができますしペア、トリプル（65kmのみ）、駅伝（65kmのみ）を参加方法も様々なので友達やチームで参加可能です。ロングコースはスタート地点を2度通るので補給やサポートも楽です。65kmカテゴリー参加者には宿泊補助券（利用可能な宿泊施設は限定的）を進呈します。
