Trail running is built on passion - from those who toe the start line to those who design the courses, volunteer at aid stations, or create unforgettable race experiences. The ITRA Awards mark an important moment of celebration for the entire trail-running ecosystem.
In 2025, we combined rigorous ITRA data analysis with community input to showcase the best stories of the year.
This year delivered some of the most remarkable performances in ITRA history. Notably, Tove Alexandersson set an all-time high female ITRA score of 877, raising the bar for excellence on technical and demanding terrain.
ITRA uses two core metrics:
A single-race performance rating reflecting a runner’s finishing time relative to the race’s distance, elevation, terrain, and conditions.
The weighted average of a runner’s top five race results - a reliable measure of their overall level across the season, where more importance is given to more recent results.
