About the Race

HOMEPAGE: https://wilderness.ee/en/taliharja-vanakuri-winter-ultra/ TALIHARJA VANAKURI is a winter ultra endurance race through Estonia’s second largest islands vast forests & bogs that runs on snowy/icy/muddy rough trails & paths. Racers will be taken to start by bus from finish/race center. Note that race course is partly marked! All participants need to navigate by map or GPS and carry mandatory equipment to survive in the harsh conditions! Race course is varying in difficulty - sometimes easy gravel roads, but sometimes really tough & rough terrain - mud, fallen over trees etc.. Snow conditions may vary - we've had none or 1 meter of snow in previous events! 125km race is called "sõge sõõr" or "mental loop" in local dialect. It is a new edition and you have to be mentally not "normal" to go for that extra 25km loop when you have actually close to finish of the 101km race... You will suffer on it, but I quess that's what you are looking for! The race can also be done by bike or ski! You can decide if you want to do the extra "sõge sõõr" loop on the go... you will get a 101km result if you don't do the extra loop!
