For travel packages contact Nonni Travel. The 10K trail starts in Breidumork the main street in Hveragerdi right outside the town hall. Runners charge past the local skyr factory cruise through the botanical garden and climb into the narrow river gorge following the Varma river. You will pass the Frosti og Funa guesthouse and climb a short hill cross the road and aim for the Hamars ridge. Next the course follows forest singletrack along the southern side of Hamarinn then climbs to the edge of an old lava field. From there it continues onto the historic Kambavegur trail just beneath the summer cabins at Hrauntunga. The course follows this old track to a bridle path that heads north running roughly parallel to the main highway over the top of Hamarinn. Then it descends into the valley toward the Hamarsholl area linking into a trail that leads down to a parking lot near Varma river and Dalakaffi at the back of the valley. After that you cross a footbridge and follow the river trail heading back toward Hveragerdi. As the course approaches the equestrian grounds runners ford the Varma river on foot. After the river crossing the trail continues past the old Hamarsholl site following the slope as it drops back into town. You pass Frosti og Funa once more run the riverside path wind back through the botanical garden and reach Breidumork for the final push to the finish line. The route includes varied terrain river crossings forest paths and 10K of Icelandic trail adventure.
