Rock Solid Kastellorizo 2024

Under the auspices of the Hellenic Olympic Committee and co-organized by the Municipality of Megisti – Kastellorizo, the Rock Solid Kastellorizo 22K mountain running race is being held for the second consecutive year on the island of Kastellorizo. The race covers 22 kilometers with an elevation gain of +1,006 meters, starting and finishing at the Harbor, in front of the "Hero’s Monument". The route begins at the harbor and passes through the island’s mountainous terrain, specifically the Mounda area, following a network of natural trails and paved roads. It’s a path of exceptional beauty, weaving through lush vegetation, leading to the island’s northern side, where runners can enjoy a breathtaking view of the island of Ro. The route then reaches the 400 steps and continues for another 5 kilometers. The start and finish line will both be at the harbor, in front of the "Hero’s Monument". Runners will traverse the trails surrounding Kastellorizo and return to finish at the same point. The event is non-competitive, and participation is free. However, official electronic timing will be provided so that all participants can track their performance. The goal of this event is to showcase the natural beauty of the broader area and raise awareness among local residents about the historical and cultural heritage of Kastellorizo. At the same time, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the island’s trails and discover key landmarks in the surrounding area.
