Entre el 1 y el 3 de julio Reventón El Paso será el epicentro del trail running europeo, acogiendo la primera edición del nuevo Campeonato de Europa que combina las disciplinas de trail running y mountain running.
From July 1 to 3 Reventón El Paso will be the epicenter of European trail running, hosting the first edition of the new European Championship that combines the disciplines of trail running and mountain running.
La prueba reina de este primer European Athletics Off-Road Running Championships de la historia. La carrera más larga de todo el programa viene a ofrecer a sus participantes una espectacular diversidad de contrastes en los recorridos. Los atletas del campeonato tendrán que superar zonas muy técnicas en las cumbres, para luego pasar por unas pistas muy rápidas en zonas más bajas. En el transcurso de su recorrido encontrarán senderos que discurren por el típico pinar canario, para a continuación pasar de forma drástica a paisajes volcánicos, cambiando así totalmente el escenario para los atletas. Una prueba que tiene el privilegio de transitar por el Parque Nacional de la Caldera de Taburiente y por el Parque Natural de Cumbre Vieja, por lo que los atletas pisarán a escasos metros de la zona afectada por el volcán más nuevo de Europa. Una circular de 47.390 metros que nace y muere en El Paso. Con un desnivel acumulado de 5.124 metros, los corredores contarán con siete puntos de avituallamientos repartidos durante el trazado.
The main event of this first ever European Athletics Off-Road Running Championships. The longest race of the whole program will offer its participants a spectacular diversity of contrasts in the courses. The athletes of the championships will have to overcome very technical areas on the summits, and then pass through some very fast tracks in lower areas. Along the course they will find trails that run through the typical Canary pine forest, to then move drastically to volcanic landscapes, thus completely changing the scenery for the athletes. A race that has the privilege of passing through the Caldera de Taburiente National Park and the Cumbre Vieja Natural Park, so the athletes will step just a few meters away from the area affected by the newest volcano in Europe. A 47,390 meters circular race that starts and ends in El Paso. With a cumulative elevation gain of 5,124 meters, runners will have seven refreshment points along the route.
