About the Race

The Challenger – 3 Loops is the ultimate endurance test at the Trans Naning Ultra — a brutal 102-kilometer battle across mountains, jungle, and time. This is where physical strength, mental resilience, and sheer determination are pushed to their absolute limits. Runners begin at Tampin Water Park with a night start, immediately heading up the YDP Challenge route in reverse to reach the base of the Trans Naning Trail. From there, they tackle the full series of seven southern Titiwangsa peaks: Gunung Datuk, Gunung Rembau, Gunung Gagak, Puncak 701, Puncak 705, Gunung Tampin Utara, and Gunung Tampin Selatan. Each 34-kilometer loop includes over 21 km of steep, technical jungle trail and mountain ascents, with dense foliage, narrow ridgelines, and energy-draining climbs. After the first loop (14-hour cut-off), runners return to Tampin Water Park to begin the second loop with a shorter 12-hour window — then return one final time to go out for the third and final loop, also with a 12-hour cut-off. As fatigue builds and the trail becomes more familiar — and more unforgiving — each loop feels harder than the last. The third loop is a true test of willpower, fought in silence, darkness, and exhaustion. Only the most focused and unbreakable will finish all three. 3 loops. 21 mountain summits. 1 finish line. This is not just a trail race — it’s a proving ground.
