大姚百草岭登山大会自2004年创办至今，作为一项融合自然风光与体育竞技的赛事，符合云南省打造“户外运动天堂”的总体规划，多年来在大姚县教育体育局、桂花镇人民政府的领导支持下，成功举办并获得了良好的赛事口碑和社会声誉，连续8年被评为云南省级体育旅游精品赛事，2018年被评为国家级体育旅游精品赛事。

赛道以土路为主，植被覆盖率90%以上，赛道经过上坪村、利的么、味泥乍等古村落。赛道路面丰富且具有代表性，其中有山石路、沙石混合路面、高山草甸、原始森林、水道。
The course primarily consists of dirt raods, with over 90% vegetation coverage. It traverses ancient villages such as Shangping,Lidimo, and Weini Zha. The trai features diverse and representative terrains including: rocky mountain paths, mixed sand-gravel sections, alpine meadows, primeval forest zone, seasonal wayerways.
