Lungauer TAUERN KRONE Challenge 2026

Der Salzburger Sparkasse Fanningbergtrail ist mit 44 Kilometern und 2.315 Höhenmetern die anspruchsvollste Strecke und startet in Mauterndorf. Der Trail führt durch das historische Zentrum, vorbei an der Burg Mauterndorf und weiter über die Ortsteile Stampfl und St. Gertrauden hinauf zum Fanningberg. Nach einem ersten Anstieg und einem Waldtrail geht es weiter zum Weißpriachtal und über einen anspruchsvollen Trail mit Wurzeln und Serpentinen bis zur Hubertuskapelle und der ersten Labestation in Mariapfarr. Der Trail verläuft weiter durch Wälder, Wiesen und Höhenwege mit traumhaften Ausblicken auf das Taurachtal, bevor er nach St. Andrä führt. Von dort geht es weiter über den Wiesberg, zum Vordereck und hinauf zur Wildbachhütte, wo eine Erholungspause eingelegt werden kann. Nach einem Abstieg über den Ort Lessach führt die Strecke weiter zum Prebersee und schließlich zum Panoramatrail, der das Highlight des Trails darstellt. Dieser letzte Abschnitt bietet abwechselnde Singletrails und Forstwege, mit herrlichem Panorama und einem finalen Downhill zur Ludlalm, dem Ziel des Trails.

The Salzburger Sparkasse Fanningberg Trail is the most challenging route, covering 44 kilometers and 2.315 meters of elevation gain, and starts in Mauterndorf. The trail leads through the historic center, past Mauterndorf Castle and on through the districts of Stampfl and St. Gertrauden up to Fanningberg. After an initial climb and a forest trail, the route continues to the Weisspriachtal valley and along a challenging trail with roots and switchbacks to the Hubertus chapel and the first refreshment station in Mariapfarr. The trail continues through forests, meadows, and high-altitude trails with fantastic views of the Taurach Valley before leading to St. Andrae. From there, it continues over the Wiesberg, to Vordereck, and up to the Wildbachhuette, where you can take a break. After a descent via the village of Lessach, the route continues to Prebersee and finally to the Panorama Trail, which is the highlight of the trail. This last section offers alternating single trails and forest paths, with magnificent panoramic views and a final downhill section to Lud-lalm, the finish of the trail. Since 2026, this competition can also be completed as a relay race, requiring at least two people, ideally three. The sections vary in distance and elevation gain and can be divided up according to the strength of the relay team members. A shuttle ser-vice will be provided for relay team members; the respective travel times will be listed in the shuttle schedule in good time.
