Commonwealth War Cemeteries Trail Run - ed. 2 2026

The second edition of the Commonwealth War Cemeteries Trail Run will be held on October 04, 2026, in Cesuna (Roana), with significant changes. The event features four distances: the 42 km Trail Marathon, the 21 km Trail Half-Marathon (non-competitive), the 12 km Entry Trail Run (non-competitive), and the new 7.5 km Family Kids Run Day (non-competitive). The routes pass through historic sites such as Commonwealth war cemeteries, the Italo-Austrian Cemetery of Val Magnaboschi, the Austro-Hungarian Cemetery of Campiello, and the Great War Museum in Canove. They pass through the monumental area of ​​Granezza and Monte Corno, the scene of bloody battles fought by the British Expeditionary Force from the autumn of 1917, and subsequently partially follow the route of the old railway. The initiative combines sport, historical memory, and the valorization of the territory. This also includes historic trails restored thanks to the tireless work of local associations.

TRAIL MARATHON 42K Distance 42 km. Elevation gain: approximately 1,148 m. Start: Cesuna Railway Square, 8:00 a.m., Sunday, October 04, 2026. Like the first edition, this one will also pass four of the five British Commonwealth War Cemeteries: the Italo-Austrian Cemetery in Val Magnaboschi and the Austro-Hungarian Cemetery in Campiello. Along the old railway line, the route will also pass the villages of Cesuna, Tresche Conca, and Canove in the Municipality of Roana. The route will pass by the Great War Museum in Canove.
