Six tips on how to have a more environmentally sustainable event

1) Reduce Waste: Use reusable or biodegradable materials. Encourage participants to bring their own hydration systems and provide refill stations to minimize single-use plastics.

2) Eco-Friendly Race Materials: Use sustainable race bibs, medals, and signage. Use digital race packets to reduce printed materials.

3) Promote Carpooling and Public Transport: Encourage participants to carpool or use public transportation. Provide incentives for eco-friendly travel methods.

4) Protect Natural Trails: Collaborate with local authorities to ensure the race does not harm the environment. Plan routes to avoid sensitive areas and enforce leave-no-trace principles.

5) Support Social Sustainability: Partner with local brands and suppliers to boost the local economy. Showcase local products and services to enhance the race experience and foster community support.

6) Educate Participants: Raise awareness about sustainability by educating participants on eco-friendly practices. Provide information on reducing waste, conserving resources, and respecting nature.
