Knowing precisely the difficulty of your trail race allows your future participants to evaluate their ability to take part in it in complete safety. Have your course evaluated by ITRA. The more precise your GPS track is, the more accurately the difficulty level of your trail will be correctly evaluated.
ITRA offers you to evaluate the level of difficulty of your race according to the distance to be covered and the positive and negative gradients present on the course.
The level of difficulty of the course is then translated into km-efforts according to an ITRA points scale. The more precise the GPS trace of your route, the more the number of km-efforts and the associated ITRA points are representative of the real efforts to be made by athletes.
Thanks to almost a decade of analysis of more than 100 000 GPX files, ITRA, in partnership with Trace de Trail, has developped a standardized evaluation system, which ensures fairness, accuracy, and comparability between trail races worldwide.
Quite often, elevation data are overestimated by organizers & runners, because there is no proper analysis of the data through a software.
Once this evaluation is completed, a number of ITRA points are assigned to your race based on the effort required to complete it.
